May you embrace your mental gym

Mental health, Mental Gym

May month is Mental Health Month which ties in well with what I want to share with you.

Mental health is as important as your physical health I would almost like to say even more so.  If your mental health is cared for with kindness, love and compassion, physical health flows right into life’s journey.   But if your mental health is disregarded it can be very difficult to take care of your physical health or at least sustain a healthy physical relationship with your own body for life.

There are definitely ways to take care of your mental health, let’s call it going to your mental gym, or mental studio, you pick what resonates with you.

When consciously choosing to go to your gym/studio it may seem like a scary or even difficult task.  Keep note that anything new may seem out of sorts.  However, your brain is a powerful tool, and your heart (soul) is even stronger, if you choose to ignore taking care of your mental health you may fall into burnout, depression, sadness, and not at all aligned with what is most important to you.

And so the first thing is first, acknowledgement of something that may need to be addressed.

I assure you, everyone and I don’t like to generalize but… everyone has something to address whether big or small.  You are human and as humans, we evolve, as we evolve we encounter new experiences and as we live through experiences certain sensations and emotions arise and sometimes we are not sure what that feeling is all about. It just doesn’t feel right.  So do not ignore the signs.

I slowly started “talks, conversations” podcast if you may on Insight Timer.  Episode 2, I speak of our mental gym and offer a few tips that can be applied.

Here are a few strategies to get you started.  You can start by being mindful in the present moment, you can practice meditation, belly breathing, socializing with friends, moving your body gently with yoga and taking time with mother nature.

These strategies do not take a long time but are quite effective to get you started in the right direction.

I invite you to cultivate habits to create wholeness with your mind and body which will make your soul happy.

You may not be a gym person but this is a gym worth getting a membership for.  Visualize your ideal mental gym/studio and dive into the opportunity of finding your calm and joy.
